A ten-year boy has just been charged as a sex offender as a result of a schoolyard game of tag that got out of control. My first notion upon reading this was to tell my little boy to avoid girls at school and avoid touching anyone. Those filthy pigs in the government would have to chase me around the world before I let them put one of my kids on the registry and there would be hell to pay. Making a 10 year old register (for inappropriate comments and movements and putting his arms around a peer, no less) is just as absurd as making someone register for having a photo of a nude 16 year old but not for having a video of a murder of a 16 year old. It is just as absurd as making someone register for having a 15 year old girlfriend but not for selling drugs to a 15 year old. It is just as absurd as making someone register for touching the clothed private area of a 6 year old but not for killing a 6 year old while driving drunk. And so on. You see where I am going with this…..
